Roadboard decks are cut flat from a special birch, and shaped by hand. Our graphics are applied using Secret Squirrel U-V inhibitor print technology. We grip & color all our decks by hand. Not one board is the same.
The cut and shaping process starts in Willie’s wood shop. He orders wood, writes checks & gives Jeff, the shop foreman, a hard time for skating in the shop. Jeff divvies up the cut, sand, and drill work to Ryan & the hombres. Ryan, aka ’sand man’, gets grief form Jeff for skating outside the shop. The hombres get most of the work done.
Graphic work is done by Avant Studios. Spencer & Stuart are bad to the bone!
Our printing process is as full on dope as it gets! Terry’s Sign-O-Rama is the only outfit that would touch this project. It only took twenty phone calls, three visits, and an arm wrestle with the front desk girl,(of which I lost,) before Terry said, “Yeah, we can do that.” Actually, an elf named Gustavo does it. We can’t talk about the grip and color process, or when and where it gets done.
